Clean crafted organic wine is an overdue revolution. An attorney-turned-sommelier named Sarah Shadonix started a wine company committed to sourcing additive-free, chemical-free, totally delicious wine from around the world called Scout & Cellar. Sarah figured out the hard way that many of the world’s mass-produced wines contain up to 300 chemical additives. My family enjoys drinking wine, but avoiding toxic chemicals is important to us too.
Growing grapes without chemicals is tricky, since they tend to march to the beat of their own drum. Their natural flavor, colors and lifespan vary across vines, which makes capturing and establishing sameness across bottles exhaustive and difficult. Chemicals provided wine producers a way of getting around the stress. We’ve grown to accept chemically altered, completely unnatural wine as the norm as a result. Scout & Cellar is here to offer a better wine experience for everyone.
